So, This Whole Having 5 Kids Thing…

Arlo is a little over 6 weeks old. Atticus is 14 and a half months old. AubreeRose is 5 years old. Huxley just turned 8. Nicholas is 14. I’ll admit, it’s tough getting much done with this crew. Right now, the oldest is at band camp, the next 3 are eating lunch, and the baby-est baby is napping. My amazing wife returned to work today (she’s been working from home w/ no paid maternity leave to speak of since she came home from the hospital – even working while Arlo was in the NICU for 6 days). I’m working from home for the moment and the day job is a little slow. I should be drawing. I need to be drawing. I have a paid side project gig coming up that I need to be prepping for. I’m just so tired. How do stay-at-home dads with 5 kids do it?

Nevertheless, I’m going to try and start posting more new art again. My goal is to post SOMETHING on my Instagram daily (@doodlesquatguy), even if it’s just process shots and post here twice a week.

I’m always open for commissions! Or at least suggestions at what to draw. Email me at doodlesquatguy@gmail.com for details!

I’m Back

Sorry for the lack of updates, doodles, comics, and other shenanigans but I’m back! On June 1, 2017 at 9:13pm, my newest baby boy, Arlo Osphal Fason was born. He’s the latest (and last) of five children – four boys and one girl. So, I’ve been a bit busy. And the weeks leading up to his birth were crowded with overnight hospital stays, so the last couple months have been a bit of a blur. But I’m excited to learn how to draw again and start putting out more content here and on my Instagram and Twitters (@doodlesquatguy for both – follow me there!).

Peace, love, and big sweaty white boy hugs!

Happy 4/20

blogsmokeThis is the soft launch of my new… something. Art blog. Comics. Sketches. Plea for attention and money. Stuff like that.

Why “doodlesquat”? It sounds funny and was an available .com (there were other names that I liked but I don’t have $1,200 to pay for a cool domain name out of pocket).

doodle [dood-l] (verb)
1. to draw or scribble idly.
2. to waste (time) in aimless or foolish activity.

squat [skwot] (verb)
1. to sit in a low or crouching position with the legs drawn up closely beneath or in front of the body; sit on one’s haunches or heels.
2. to settle on or occupy property, especially otherwise unoccupied property, without any title, right, or payment of rent.

Chris Fason is a big sweaty guy from Alabama that draws comics and stuff.
